Travelling up the Aosta Valley, the Gressoney Valley is the first one you come across on the right and is known as the cradle of the Walsers, merchants and artisans who arrived from distant Germany since the 13th century.<\/p>

The valley borders Valais in Switzerland to the north and Val d’Ayas to the west and it\u2019s crossed by the Lys creek which rises from the glacier. <\/b><\/p>

Along the border with Switzerland you will find some of the highest peaks of the Monte Rosa massif, such as Castore at 4221m<\/b>, Western Lyskamm at 4481<\/b>m and Eastern Lyskamm at 4527m<\/b>.<\/p>

This valley is connected to Switzerland via the Lys pass at 4248m<\/b> and to the Ayas Valley via the Bettaforca pass at 2676m<\/b> and the Valnera pass at 2676m<\/b>.<\/p>

The valley has a strong tourist vocation. Winter tourism benefits from the large Monterosa Ski area, which connects the Ayas Valley, the Gressoney Valley, and Valsesia.<\/p>

In summer, large and small mountain hikes are facilitated by the presence of the lifts to reach the numerous mountain huts such as the Quintino Sella al Felik at an altitude of 3585 m and the Citt\u00e0 di Mantova at an altitude of 3498 m and to get closer to the peaks of Monte Rosa. We must not forget the Alpenz\u00f9 hut at 1779 m<\/b>, an enchanting stage point of the Tour des Six.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t
